Khmer Children on the Move Assisted

On 30 January 2016, there was a phone call to the free helpline phone 1387 of ChildLine Thailand, where two Khmer phone counselors are supported to answer calls from Khmer children on the move in Thailand. The concerned adult reported that there were a Khmer child aged 14 and her brother, 1 year old, got lost and sat in front of Rachatevi area, Bangkok, near the main office of Siam Commercial Bank.

The children were sitting under the flyover near Siam Commercial Bank. There were a security guard, two policemen and some motorbike taxi there. Child Helpline Cambodia’s Khmer counselors arrived at around 13.00pm and assisted the children to look for their family. At about 14.00pm, there was a man name, Mr. Vy. The children confirmed that Mr. Vy was their biological brother. Mr. Vy said that he lost his sister and brother since early morning. He worked at Wat Prathumwanaram Rachavihan, near Siam Paragon. The two children were going back home with their brother safely.
